Ink cartridge re-design

For a limited range of consumer inks, the Epson ‘Low Ink’ communication in the printer status monitor has changed. For impacted ink cartridges, you will no longer receive ink low warnings. Additionally, when the ink cartridge needs replacing, the following message will be displayed: “Ink cartridge cannot be recognised”. At this point the cartridge should be replaced in the normal way.

You may experience different ink level messaging from each of the Epson ink cartridges in the printer at any one time, depending on the cartridge production date.

The graphic display in the status monitor will still enable remaining ink levels to be checked and monitored until the cartridge needs replacing and you will still be able to enjoy the high quality, high reliability of Epson genuine ink, which is not impacted by this change.

T129/130
On installation of the black cartridge for T129 and T130 ink families, the graphic display showing ink levels on the status monitor will show as not being full. Please note that, the printable page yield for T129 black cartridge is the same as the original cartridge design and in case of T130 black ink, the page yield of the new cartridge design is 4.5% lower than the original cartridge and Epson’s Recommended Retail Price has been reduced so that the cost-per-page remains the same.

Ink cartridge re-design

For a small range of our commercial printer inks, the "ink low" communication in the printer status monitor has changed. This is due to the discontinuation in production of a component currently used within those ink cartridges.

Due to the change in components, ink consumption is now calculated based on the printing of different sized dots, and ink usage must now be estimated rather than accurately tracked. As a result, varying levels of ink could remain in each cartridge. The price of the cartridges has been reduced by 20% to reflect this change.

Customers will still benefit from the same high quality and high reliability of Epson genuine ink, which is not impacted by the change
